As part of the Educational Technologies team, Lucas works primarily with faculty and students to promote digital literacy and support technology integration into the curriculum. This includes, but is not limited to: supporting active learning strategies to better match teaching and learning styles; developing and delivering technical training sessions and workshops; and researching emerging applications and hardware relevant to teaching and learning with technology. Lucas has presented on teaching with technology at: Skidmore College (Saratoga Springs, NY); Ursinus College (Ursinus, PA); and the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative annual conference (Austin, TX). He is actively involved with the New York 6 consortium of liberal arts colleges (Colgate University, Hamilton College, Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Union College, St. Lawrence University, Skidmore College) and serves as a mentor for students interested in coupling their liberal arts degree with paraprofessional experiences in the field of instructional technology. He teaches EDUC 504, Applications of Educational Technology, a graduate course in the education department that focuses on the infusion of new technologies into the work of teachers, counselors and school administrators. Lucas holds a Bachelor of Science from the State University of New York at Potsdam, and a Master of Education from St. Lawrence University.
